SparkReceipt has really simplified managing my freelance expenses. The OCR is quick and surprisingly accurate—I can just scan a receipt, toss it, and trust that everything’s saved. It’s such a relief not having to keep stacks of receipts around. The app pulls out the important details automatically, which saves me a ton of time. I’d definitely recommend giving it a try!

Exactly what i've been waiting for!

I am using SparkReceipt for a couple of month now, and it’s working flawless!

Pros:
- Reliable Value Recognition: One of the standout features is the automatic recognition of values from invoices. It works almost flawlessly, which saves a ton of time and hassle.
- User-Friendly Interface: The tool is incredibly intuitive to use. Even if you're not particularly tech-savvy, you’ll find your way around it in no time!
- Awesome Email Import: The email import feature is a game changer. It works like a charm and makes capturing data so much easier. No more juggling between apps and windows!

Everyone has chatGPT 4o now, QuickBooks online just advertised yesterday to me that they make snapshots of receipts super easy. To be valuable, SparkReceipt needs to update their expense categories to match the IRS categories, so we can use this for something practical like taxes. Not asking you to compete directly with the accounting softwares, just simply help us upload our expenses in proper format for the I.R.S. tax season like how QBO automatically provides these options. Maybe have meta categories so each category can be put into one of the IRS expense type buckets.
Otherwise it's just creating extra work by using this tool. Another thing we need to see prioritized on roadmap is multiple-expense screenshots being converted to multiple expense, just prompt the ai "This image may contain a list of multiple expenses, it is critical that you accurately capture each one individually". Such an easy update, and you can tell user "this feature may not work perfectly each time so double check it", that is fine but at least TRY to add value please. Everyone was nice since we got 20% off but if this is really for freelancers and small businesses we need ability to autocategorize for our simple tax-ready records, and to upload statements of multiple expenses and at least have the a.i. attempt to scan them all in as separate expenses. I'll update this review to 5 stars and make it sound super nice once these 2 simple features (which you can build in a few hours I'm sure, if not 30 minutes) are done. I love the promise of tech - but most tech is clunky and frustrating - but not SparkReceipt. Seriously, I don't remember the last time I just opened an app and it worked straight a way. Made perfect sense, didn't need a whole lot of pop ups and support docs to figure it out and just made life simpler and easier. Seriously 5 tacos for this one. Getting for the whole family!

What I like about the app is its ease of use, its AI intelligence, its interface, and its potential for even more features. If we were to develop it, we could include mileage tracking as an example. I tracked my blood sugar several times by taking pictures of the meter and using appropriate tags/categories. After the second or third picture, the AI was able to read the sugar level from the photo of the meter and write a description. I actually said "wow," out loud but I know it is not meant for this use case. In any case, I have not regretted the purchase, and I have now developed the habit of scanning my receipts for the upcoming tax season.

Would love it if I was away where it could automate syncing with starling bank?

Before I used SparkReceipt, I took pictures of receipts using my phone and downloaded them to my computer. Next, I itemized each receipt in a Google Sheet, attached the photos, and then emailed the completed sheet to our accountant. If you haven't written 20-30 lines of expenses on a sheet every week, know that it is time-consuming.

Now, I just forward the receipts to SparkReceipt, download the report that already contains the photos, and share them with the accountant (Done in 5 minutes). This saves me 2 hours weekly, roughly 8 hours a month. It basically pays for itself.

Works flawlessly capturing all the details of scanned receipts. Helps keep all receipts electronically in one place especially those receipts received outside of the office. I purchased multiple tiers to be able to share with other employees during the first Appsumo offering. One of my favorite AS purchases.
