Magically let AI generate ideas and idea collections.
I had different expectations, a more visual representation of ideas, so it would be easier to get an overview of all ideas and how they relate to other ideas. Like a mindmap with idea details on a click. It did not invite me to actually write down ideas. I can imagine it is a nice tool for larger groups. Refunding this one.
Helps me to collect ideas from everyone from the top managment and also from customers. Gets us different perspectives for the problems we face. This helps me to get out of grey areas and blind spots in our business operations.
We use Ideanote for two primary purposes. To get ideas and engagmenet from our core leadership team to improve operations and also for our members for our Challenges. This is where we ask the members to submit their best ideas that worked in their business and our team of evaluators pick the top 3 from the ideas submitted. These ideas are further shared with the community. Ideanote helps us to run these operations smoothly.
I've played around with IdeaNote for a few hours and here's what I can say.
PROS
1. It's a cool idea.
2. I can see it being quite helpful if you have a similar process to the one intended.
CONS:
1. It's buggy. I had a column view bug out and become unresponsive with an 'unknown error' happening in the bottom bar.
2. I also made an automation to move an idea from one collection to another based on likes but immediately hit 2 snags: a) when the idea gets copied across to the collection, it actually appears in EVERY phase instead of in the inbox phase as intended. b) even linking a COMMENT in the idea sends it to the other collection. (hmmmm... surely this can't be desired behaviour!?)
3. It seems to be impossible to allow people to choose what phase their ideas go in without giving them edit access (which allows them to do all kind of things they shouldn't do). This is a HUGE oversight and probably a dealbreaker for me unless I can figure out a workaround.
4. Some really obvious things like having a single column (phase) be uneditable by viewers seems to be not actually possible -they can still comment by the look of it. Also when you move idea cards to other phases they seem to somehow pick up multiple actions (even duplicated ones!) - this is truly annoying and confusing from a UI perspective. Other things liek being able to edit the text of the 'add' idea button which just says 'add' would be nice - kind of surprising this functionality isn't there.
Overall I would say it's promising but actually quite inflexible as a tool which I find really frustrating :(
Their support team is responsive and helpful, enhancing the overall experience. I'm eagerly awaiting the addition of a calendar view feature, which will be a great aid in organizing and planning upcoming ideas and initiatives.
Ideanote is intuetive and useful tool to gather and rate ideas. I plan to use it for getting feedback from my customers (and ideas). I will also make courses and will be using ideanote to validate demand for a specific content/topic of the course. Plus points for several languages to select (interface)...
Five tacos after a short usage,
So as you may have gathered from the title, I like Ideanote. As an Agile Coach, I help Agile Teams and leaders of Agile organizations improve how the business and IT work together to instill business agility and ultimately be more competitive. A significant part of this involves how to effectively "manage" innovation (my first lesson is that it CAN be managed; it's not just the realm of the 1 or 2 made geniuses in the organization.)
I've just stacked 3 codes and have been experimenting with Ideanote. This is exactly what I've been looking for and what I believe many organizations need. There is ONE thing that I think is missing and would enable so many teams to FINALLY move forward when trying to figure out which competing opportunity to pursue using their limited resources (excluding Apple, who has unlimited resources...)
And that is the ability to FORCE RANK a set of "accepted" ideas.
In particular, I would like to be able to do two things in this tool:
1) Rating Criteria - allow me to specify that this criteria item should be a numeric rating (instead of the little 4 icon rating.)
2) Custom calculation - Allow me the ability to enter a formula using the rating criteria I desire.
There is a well known work ranking process (WSJF - Weighted Shortest Job First) that allows you to evaluate a set of ideas across a number of criteria, and then come up with a "score" for each item. While it doesn't completely eliminate it, this cuts down significantly on the "All 5 of these opportunities are ranked 'high'" conflict that teams find themselves facing. Given the existing functionality you already have in place, you will open Ideanote to a whole market if you add this one little tweak. Would love to speak to someone about this if you'd like more details/a better explanation.
Ideanote app allows easy access gathering ideas from your client/ employee with very neat design.
Good:
You can add many missions with your own design and also easy to define access for each mission.
Need to improve:
1) Direct link or connection with different idea is only available using Enterprise Analysis. I request link missions directly by assigning each items from Ideanote numbering such as #123, referring the item.
2) Adding progress indication with circle design will helpful for everybody to understand how much mission is achieved at real time.
3) Mission progress view in vertical or horizontal view with sub-mission will be helpful for users.
For example, mission A require to complete sub a-b-c as one process (template to be considered)
So the item will be shown as A: a (done on Sep 2020) - b (60% as of today) - c (to be finalized by 2020)
This is my experience for applying one week service and purchased Ideanote.
Fantastic tool to collect, share and grow your ideas. Some of the features I love are:
- white-labelling
- widget
- integration with Zapier (recently added)
Guys, get this tool before it goes away :)
What do you like best?
================
Based on my personal experience on the platform, what I like is...
(1) The simplicity of idea-innovation management and it's fully functional
(2) Capacity to scale for unlimited members
(3) Note-taking and discussion from ANYONE anywhere
(4) Separation of communication for any combination of member participants who want to share and collaborate on ideas (i.e public or private, internal or external, local or Global etc)
(5) Their Support and fix ethic is courteous, enthusiastic, helpful and useful
(6) Well-thought-out tier for analytics and reporting based on your needs
(6) Flexible to new ideas to improve the platform
(7) Transparent and cost-effective.
I could go on, but you really need to try it, to believe the value of this product. Especially in a time where people everywhere, need to share, collaborate and innovate more than ever before.
What do you dislike?
===============
(a) One thing that I am not so cool on is the storage space limit of 50GB. That said they provide ways to avoid hitting that limit, by allowing you to link and embed external sources like documents and video to areas on the system that matter most.
(b) The other is control over the types of notifications I can receive. Although it might not be ideal, it's also not a deal-breaking real issue, it's more of a nicety.
The introduction of new features and frequent updates and existing feature reviews, outway, any need for concern and I believe if "notification options" were a major want/need, the founders would review and adapt accordingly.
An excellent choice for inspiring exploration and the collaboration of innovative ideas.
What a great product. So many people don't participate in giving ideas / solutions to issues because they don't have the time or want to voice it publicly. Now they can and we can gather more and better ideas on growing missions.
If you are a human being that has a brain YOU NEED TO GET THIS! Let me ask you one simple question... You have ideas right?
If that's the case, this is an absolute MUST!
This is one of the most efficient ways to collect ideas from yourself AND others so that you can put them out on the open to rate. Your ideas might suck or somebody may love it. Let people decide by allowing them to vote... THIS IS A GAME CHANGER!!!
I nearly passed on this because it just seemed too much trouble to implement the change, however I took a little bit more time to think about the value proposition and realised it was too much trouble to not implement, at it's core this tool takes what we already do ( or should be doing if we are too busy!) and does it far better and more easily too.
There are many many benefits apart from the most obvious one of discovering and refining valuable ideas.
For example for large enterprises it can improve cross functional communication and teamwork, we all know Finance don't want to talk to Sales and vice versa, funnily enough they both say the same thing "they don't get it".
For community or innovation driven business this is a great engagement tool that helps a customer centric approach that's essential.
For low to high ticket service based businesses it's a great engagement tool that can start a conversation or identify what clients really want.
What I'd really like to know is when someone contributes an idea they register an email - but where do i access those contact details in order that I can contact the contributor?
Top marks for easy implementation too, the UI is easy and clear, I produced something usable from scratch in 15 minutes, here's an example of using it for business development https://rcl.ink/BLR
