I had high hopes for Encharge and even purchased their highest package. My first campaign delivered well, but the second campaign saw a huge drop in deliverability and badly hurt my domain’s reputation. I contacted support, but no one could clearly explain what triggered the drop. This was frustrating, especially since both emails were very similar in structure and content.
I also find the platform setup confusing. The separation of "Emails" and "Broadcasts" makes things unnecessarily complicated. Every other email tool I’ve used combines these into one section, making it far easier to manage.
There are also several other issues mentioned in other reviews that I’ve experienced myself. Overall, so far this is a 2-star experience for me. This is now the second email sending app I’ve purchased through AppSumo where I feel my money has been wasted.
I've tried to set up this platform and for weeks it's been - well, bad.
Folks are telling me I went straight to spam...and...Having a LOT of trouble with the Thrivecart API. Encharge sent over 200,000 requests when I was trying to set it up so Thrivecart disabled it.
I've reached out to the Encharge Team with NO RESPONSE. So I bought the highest tier for a product that is not functional.
Tool didn't got full integration currently. It is no where close to native integration expectation and capabilities.
I purchased a code for this software. I opened and account and then decided to purchase two more codes. But then.....when I tried to stack them, I could not even access my original account. Emailed support.....crickets. Can't seem to reach them. Did they sell and dump? I have three codes with no way of redeeming them. Maybe they are on vacation and need more than a week to get back to me?
If you're looking for the bare minimum, with more difficult ways to sort out your clients, this is the software for you!
I don't understand why I can't select multiple groups/segments from the broadcast section, or why there is a broadcast section at all instead of just giving me the option to send an email out after I build it under the EMAIL section.
This is definitely good if you have some very basic email campaigns, but with how we sort our contacts and send emails out, this software is awful.
I’ve tried several email marketing tools on AppSumo, and none of them hold a torch to this one. I originally bought Tier 1 just to test it out and didn’t touch it for a while. Once I finally did, I was blown away. Setup was incredibly simple. I had my first automation live within the day, and the UI and UX made the whole thing feel smooth and intuitive.
One standout feature is the website tracking. Being able to see if and where your email users are visiting your site is a total game changer. The fact that the automation can respond to those kinds of cues adds a level of granularity that feels way above this price point. It’s seriously high value.
Now I’m kicking myself for not grabbing a higher tier while I could. This app makes email automation very easy in the best way. I’d love to offer it to clients because I know I could deliver quality email campaigns without a huge learning curve.
I have tried another email option here in app sumo, but from day one I had all the emails ending up in the junk folder and was not able to use it for the same reason, so I decided to try Encharge and it I was sorpriced by the end results, all my emails were delivers into the inbox, I have upgraded the tiers to support the developer. Highly recommended
Having purchased many APPSumo products and always left a positive review it is difficult for me to say this transaction was my worst. Although I see many like it.
Negative thoughts:
1. My first emails were throttled taking days to send even after informing them on transfer that my sending domain was already verified and authenticated as my long established list.
2. The second send was completely throttled and halted 2/3rds of the way through with no explanation.
3. I found the support to be curt, brief and unhelpful.
4. The login is so frustrating. You take the time to enter logins and passwords and it fails every time and informs you that because it is the first time you have logged in (not true done it 15 times in the same cached browser) you should wait for an alternative linke to be sent.
5. The UI looks 2010 to me after using other email clients.
6. The segments instead of lists are poorly thought out. After taking the time to segment all my clients and then tagging them, you cannot send to a portion of a segment, it has to have its own segment created.
Sorry but this was not for me and I wish the company well and the other users but a big no for us. The positives for others will be unlimited sends.

I'm going to give it a 5, but its really more of a 4.3 for me. This works, right out of the box, and does so without fuss in an effective way. this is an absolute 5 star purchase for basic small business activities like opt in welcome emails, renewal campaigns (i work in insurance) and having a healthy database of people to market to for the price. However, I would like this much more if it integrated with my hubspot, and while i dont have a use for the other ones, it should do those too if not in a basic way. maybe there just isnt a good balance of revenue from this LTD to offer these more advanced features, but i get a bit anxious making these purchases knowing if i ever need more premium features, im treated like a newcomer monthly user for the most part.
That being said, it took me no more than an hour to have this fully configured with my boost space automation flow and sending out emails just 5 mins after. It looks sharp, gets delivered, gets read, and puts people on my calendar. when you consider that i paid what i did for tier 2 thats a slam dunk.
If you are a smaller business and just need what it offers here (which is quite a bit really), this should be a required purchase. I fully recommend all considered.
I was super excited about Encharge, it seemed to be all that I was looking for. But it may not be the one for me or for the use I need it for.
PROS
+ It has conditional content with liquid - something unusual that has become a must since I started using it with Kit.
+ It has snippets, so you can change content in once place and change it in all the emails that contain it.
+ You can filter out or tag people who got sent but didn't open, who opened, who clicked, and even those who replied to an email (something amazing that Kit lacks).
+ You can add an integration to know which website pages they visited.
+ You can edit the list/grid view of your contacts to show the fields you want.
+ The segments can have colors (!) which is very nice.
+ In the contact view, you initially only see the fields that have content, which is super comfortable - when editing the contact, you do see all fields and you can add fields too.
+ The filtering is great, has tons of criteria to it.
+ Importing my contact list was super easy, just a CSV and all the tags got added automatically (having some 350 tags, that's a major step).
So there's many things here that are better than in Kit, Drip, MailerLite, Brevo or Keap, which I've tried over the past few years.
CONS - workable
- There's no proper email templates, so you have to base an email on the previous email of that sort.
- You cannot save your default colors or fonts, so every time you make an email you have to choose them again (or duplicate the previous email).
- I find it visually complex, also that all emails are to be found in one section to add them there to the workflows, but I've seen that in other tools - it's about staying organized with giving the emails a name, and getting used to it. A plus in this sense is that emails can be saved in folders, which may be a saver.
- I understand they've been super busy with the Appsumo launch, it's been taking 1-2 days to get some of the initial things resolved. Slower than I'd like but with some patience, it's ok.
CONS - severe (for me)
I purchased tier 6 in order to get the Thrivecart integration. But the first thing I noticed was that Thrivecart flagged this wasn't a regular ESP integration: the only thing you can do in Encharge (and not even on Thrivecart) is "sync" the user.
The process of adding tags, sending emails etc is done via an a Encharge automation, where you select the "event" being a Thrivecart purchase and then you need to *manually* type in the product name, code whatever in order to filter out what they purchased to send them the respective emails. Seems like the Convertbox connection works in a similar way.
I feel dismayed, since I have 50+ Thrivecart products (and I create several new per year, almost per month) so keeping track of all the coded product names to type them correctly by hand (there's not even a picklist to choose from) seems the recipe for disaster and extremely time-consuming.
Moreover, some of the advanced event conditions cannot be accessed from the plan offered in Appsumo, only with the Premium plan. So it remains to be seen whether some basic functions for a regular Thrivecart connection can even be filtered out in Encharge with this LTD (meaning, which product they purchased, whether it was with a payment plan or not, or which payment plan, with or without bumps and upsells, etc). I hardly know how to set up a test integration to find out - the documentations isn't ready and I don't know how to find the actual text to write into the conditions for the event to make sure it's exactly the right text.
I'm still excited about many of the features so right now I'm torn between returning the product altogether and staying with Kit, or keeping Tier 1 "just to play" (if I ever have time to play or find a way to use Encharge without using the Thrivecart and Convertbox integrations, which currently are basic to my setup).
I honestly feel disappointed and slightly cheated. Why making such a fuss about a Thrivecart integration that is not really an integration? Not a user-friendly integration, that's for sure. Too bad, because if they did have an actual proper integration with Convertbox and Thrivecart, I'd be a raving fan. (And don't talk to me about Zapier/Make/Pabbly because having such a ton of tags, optins and automations as I have, it's certainly not a good alternative).
Nice mail chimp or mailer lite replacement. If you use those it will work for you, but absolutely not for e-commerce selling physical products. So if that is your use case look for something else.
I have been using encharge for many years and it has become an indispensable tool for my work. It is easy to use and has a power and flexibility of use that is not found in many of its competitors. in 2021 I had taken tier 5, this year I wanted to upgrade to tier 6 because it was too convenient I highly recommend it
