I am extremely disappointed with Bot9's recent decision to remove the BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) feature, which was originally part of the deal. While the product itself is not bad and functions decently, the company's handling of this situation is where the real issue lies.
I specifically purchased the Tier 3 package because of the BYOK feature. It was a crucial part of my decision-making process, providing an extra layer of security and control that I needed. The abrupt removal of this feature without any prior warning, email notification, or compensation is entirely unprofessional. It feels like a bait-and-switch tactic, which is incredibly unfair to loyal customers who believed in Bot9 and supported them from the start.
On June 6th, I reached out via email to inquire if those who purchased the AppSumo deal could still access the BYOK feature. To date, I have received no response — not even a generic acknowledgment. This complete lack of communication and disregard for early customers' concerns is unacceptable. Ignoring the very individuals who supported you in the beginning is no way to build a lasting business relationship.
Ultimately, while the product may perform adequately, Bot9's customer service and ethical practices leave much to be desired. Until they can demonstrate a commitment to their customers and restore trust, I cannot recommend investing in their solutions. Be cautious and reconsider if reliability and transparent communication are important to you.
