The platform that grows with you
I started using WooCommerce back in 2014, and it was NOT a fun experience, with awful code quality, terrible backwards compatibility, and ridiculous limitations that required me to hack the core to get things to work the way I needed to. This experience kept me away from WooCommerce for almost 10 years. I have used it with a few clients over the years, and am now back to using it for myself, because ultimately is it the most powerful and flexible eCommerce solution for WordPress, especially if you expect to sell physical products (otherwise, use EDD). It's also now much more widely supported in the WordPress community, so you can get quality plugins that add functionality for low cost or free, instead of being forced to rely on their marketplace, which is great. So far, the experience has been significantly better, but I still find myself waiting for the other shoe to drop.
