I’ve had the opportunity to test a promising new tool that shows great potential, especially with the following key points:
Potential and Promise: The tool is quite promising and seems worth the investment.
Key Features Needed:
Scheduling: Adding scheduling capabilities would greatly enhance its functionality.
White Label Capabilities: Agencies would benefit from white label options.
Current State: After initial testing, it looks really good and is definitely worth considering.
Support: The support team responds quickly, which is a big plus.
Future Prospects: I’m excited to see where the product will be in six months, as it's expected to be further along in development.
Voice Quality:
The most urgent need is integrating platforms like Eleven Labs to improve voice quality, as the current voices sound a bit robotic.The roadmap indicates that improvements in voice quality are in progress.
Cost Considerations:
The cost to purchase additional minutes is quite high right now. Hopefully, this will decrease as the user base grows.
Overall, I see great potential in this tool and look forward to its future developments.
I have tried other AI callers like call fluent (latency too slow) retell (too hard to integrate) bland (call gets cut off halfway) agentsys (expensive and call gets cut off halfway) vapi (doesn't fully follow my script)
So far voicegenie is the best. It sounds the most natural. And overall it follows my script very well. Support is also good.
Only 2 downsides.
1. I cannot trigger a call through zapier yet (developers said they would fix this)
2. It can only do outbound calls, not inbound.
It is not yet usable on a large scale, as it lacks a few small features and other voices in French, but when the roadmap progresses, it will be great. In some months, I am sure that this tool will be able to play the role of a full-time telesales agent in my company.
Very limited support to figure out how to setup inbound/outbound campaigns to work properly without triggering an error. And yes recording/transcription is hit or miss. But not 100% at all.
Definitely robotic voices but it’s more about making sure the webhook and the api integration are working properly. But without the support, it’s hard to say.
I guess it’s worth a few more test before returning for now. Hopefully, this improves in the future.
I’m very disappointed to leave a bad review… I was very excited about VoiceGenie but unfortunately, it is not ready for any type of use at all. Here are just a few of my many issues with this software:
MAJOR ISSUES:
• RED FLAG: NO SETTING FOR DAYS OR HOURS
You can't set any days or hours for calling so once you start a campaign it just starts calling without any concern for business hours, etc. Easy way to get a lot of complaints about your business. This was a huge red flag for me!
• DISASTER: CAN’T PAUSE CAMPAIGN
Support told me that I couldn't set any days or hours for the calling campaign, but instead, I could always manually pause the campaign to stop it from calling. So I did that... but it kept on calling and calling. I contacted support and they confirmed it was paused... but it is still calling out. This is a nightmare and support hasn’t help. It is still calling out even after I “paused” the campaign… It says it is “Complete” but yet, it won’t stop calling still… I deleted the Twill phone number and contact list, yet the campaign was STILL calling them. I was so stressed that it would keep calling (on my company’s behalf) long into the night or in the middle of the night! It finally fished the campaign (with ZERO results).
• ISSUE: TWILLIO SAYS OVER 3,000 CALLS
I checked Twillio and it says over 3,000 calls were made yesterday using VoiceGenie, for 166 contacts. VoiceGenie’s dashboard says 166 total calls placed, but Twillio says over 3,000! Almost all of the calls are 1 second long. No conversation at all.
OTHER ISSUES:
• BAD / ODD SUPPORT
I was told by Support that Satyam would need to help me with an issue I brought up and that he would email me that same day. He didn't. Again, just very odd and bad follow-up. I have been in touch with their support chat (transferred to human, name: shivam.sikdar) and am trying to get help to pause or stop the campaign from calling. It says it is paused, but it keeps on calling... They are not very helpful and I'm afraid this will give my company a bad name for calling after hours as I can't stop it from calling… Chat Support seems less concerned about the timing of this, as they keep telling me it will take some time. They even stopped responding to my chat and ended the chat without saying anything else. When I signed back into chat to ask him why he did that, he said (basically) that he couldn’t help me any further. So customer service just hung up on me with an urgent issue!?
• CALL RECORD - NOT WORKING
On top of all of these major issues, the basic features such as "call recording" didn't work. I reported this (among many other support needs) and they said they are reporting it to tech support. Something minor like this is fine with that response, but calling my contacts constantly at all hours with NO way to pause or delete the campaign is a major problem!! Plus it’s frustrating (if I didn’t have the bigger problems) that I can’t tell how any of the calls actually went. Very odd!
• CONTACT INFO CONFUSION
I scheduled a demo from their website. Satyam did the demo with me. The audio was very very bad and unprofessional. Lots of background noise and bad microphone. At the end of the demo, the gentleman gave me his personal email and phone number to text as well. I thought this was odd but maybe great customer service? I had a few follow up questions. So I texted him, but I never got a response. So I emailed him. No response. Finally I went through the website and they told me to email their support email instead. That's fine, but why not give me that in the first place?
Although I think this concept is cool and possibly a good idea, and I was very hopeful for VoiceGenie, I cannot recommend this software at all. With features not working and me not able to stop the campaign from calling after hours, this was a disaster. I gave it a list of 166 contacts and it got zero results from it and I have been stressed the entire time that it is going to continue call people way into the middle of the night. On top of that, Twillio is reporting that VG made over 3,000 calls yesterday, most of which were 1 second long. Very disappointed! 👎
I thought (given your high prices for regular users) that you offered an "all-inclusive" service, without having to go through twillio, especially since you do it very well for test calls.
The voices are robotic, and the most useful functions are absent, I understood the absence of outgoing calls with a shared number, but since you need a twillio number, I would have liked to be able to take incoming calls! I can't use a "be-called" button on my website either (while your demo announces the appointment), but to benefit from any functionality: you have to trigger a campaign manually, and therefore have a twillio number, which costs more for incoming calls than for outgoing calls.
A link with token and variable would have been good e.g. voicegenie dot com/token?xxxxx&num?+1012345678 (to launch a single call), since you do not know how to receive them (yet you already have everything!) the price was interesting for once, but ultimately I don't think I'll invest.
Especially since I see the blow coming: with another offer launching on appsumo for a new site (instead of improving this one) with the idea that I have just given you, and which I would not take either because the prices will be $159 for 75 or 150 minutes (instead of 750 in third 2 here for the moment)
Bug: in demo version the bot cannot hang up, which consumes a lot of credit, it's a very bad seller , for fear of this happening in campaigns.
I really appreciate the voice quality ! Can't wait the API features it would be insane !!
The PROMISE is huge - and I really see the possibility, but in it's current state, I need it to do some things that I think that it does not.
1) I need it to send a "call summary" notice when a call is completed, ideally a successful call. So if they say "Yes, I want to book a call, probably Wednesday morning", I need to to send me a summary (ideally with a link to the call to verify) NAME, PHONE, EMAIL, CALL TIME
2) Customized voicemail will be HUGE. PLEASE get that up and running! A CUSTOMIZED voicemail only option would be huge
3) We need to set the rate of calls. I have sales guy, and I make/take calls myself, but I'd love to be able to say: "Send 1 call every 10 minutes from 9am to 11am monday through friday" or somethign like that.
4) During "connect with live person" calls, we should be able to either set it to "pause for X minutes" if we have only ourselves or a certain number of sales agents/call takers, to make sure we don't get overflow,
5) Or, if it notices that the call it transfered over is still ongoing, offer to take information and get the information set up.
6) You need BETTER voices - these still sound robotic, and have to pause when they hit a variable like {name}
7) Ideally, more than 2k minutes/month, especially since we foot the call bill
Tried on multiple campaigns. AI isnt very good at recognizing voicemail. Sounds very robotic with the AI voice.
Great UI and easy setup with Twilio, but had to return due to practicality of use.
After a few minutes testing, I have to admit, My expectations were dead low. It's an AI voice, no doubt, however my first impression is positive. I was more impressed than I thought possible.
