Video creation made easy with illusto
As a regular buyer of several apps on AppSumo, I initially considered Illusto a valuable purchase, given its unique combination of video editing capabilities and access to stock images and videos. However, the news of its closure came as quite a shock to me.
That said, I must commend AppSumo’s swift response and the ethical approach you’ve taken by offering refunds to Sumo-lings affected by this situation. It’s rare to see businesses prioritize customer trust and satisfaction so prominently, especially in challenging circumstances like these. AppSumo's proactive measure to safeguard their customers underscores the values that make AppSumo a trusted platform for entrepreneurs like me.
Used this one quite regularly and thought it had a real chance at becoming a big player. Sure, there were some bugs, but overall, the software was well-built; it performed well, and it delivered on its main purpose with minimal frustration.
Gotta give it 1-star for shutting down after the one-year mark though. That's just not right...
Off late we're seeing a pattern where multiple SaaS platforms are shutting down. While I was initially concerned what would happen to AppSumo users, a big thank you and word of appreciation for AppSumo and it's team for doing right by it's users. I have received refund on all SaaS platforms that went bust recently, except QAPop which wasn't covered under the terms. And AppSumo did right by me. Considering that it's a loss for them as well, more so because of the efforts they may've had to put in for the launch of these products, it's safe to say that AppSumo puts ethics and user experience on top of everything else and really cares for it's users... Big shout out to everyone working at AppSumo... THANK YOU FOR DOING RIGHT BY US...
I didn't have any problems with the site. Loved it in fact. I used it to create videos with text, audio and music. No problems. Then...
I lost my $100 bucks as the site is scamming... I mean closing.
So tired of these sites stealing our money and dancing away with no consequences.
Appsumo needs to do proper investigation before allowing these apps on their platform that closes after 1 year. How will i get back my hard earned money now? I was not even able to edit a video properly using this scammy platform. I sat waiting patiently for the platform to improve only to hear that it is closing. I need back my money!
Ver y bad, another productos that is closing after the year.
There are many deals where i hace invest muy money and loose it. Pretty bad, scam companies?
scared to continúe buying and this happening.
Conveniently closing it's doors 1 year after campaign to avoid refunds. Not a coincidence I'm sure. Just bad actors. This kind of scheme makes me completely hesitant to buy from AS. These companies know exactly what they're doing and it will be the ultimate downfall of the entire platform since nobody will have any confidence to purchase a deal that's likely to run 1 year before they get paid out and then send a heavy heart email.
I have tried to develop and design videos using this tool. It's been a regrettable ordeal. I just clicked "Use This Template" over 5 minutes ago - it's still spinning and will not render. Several times during video editing, the interface freezes and I'm forced to close out. The capabilities and customization features are very limited. I waited an entire year for the founders to build out templates but that never happened. There is only a small quantity of templates, and most of them are poor quality. Unfortunately, this was a waste of money.
I normally dont like tools which promise a lot of things but then as soon as you purchase, issues arise. Support is none existent. The tool is very slow and lags significantly. I had raised this issue a long time ago but till date heard nothing. No updates or improvements which is sad.
I just tried to create a basic video with 1 image, 2 lines of text, a logo, and a soundtrack.
I spent over an hour putting all that into the canvas and manipulating about 4 seconds (!) of the video, and the browser glitched.
After reloading the page, the canvas was all messed up and not usable anymore, even if it auto-saves after every single click.
It's a pain to drag and drop elements to canvas. At least, they should disable text highlight (a.k.a. select text) which stays in the way all the time.
Why is this Illusto still so glitchy?
I bought it about 5 months ago and I hoped it would become a good video editor, but it's still not usable at this point.
It is too slow, it's lagging, it's glitching, and the auto-save feature is obviously useless.
And the support didn't answer my recent ticket.
IS THIS TOOL STILL DEVELOPED OR ABANDONED?
If I could get a refund, I would do it without a blink of an eye.
Dear @appsumo, the 60-day refund period has obviously become obsolete. Please, reconsider prolonging it to 6 months, so shady founders can't fetch funds and f**k off.
For whatever reason it decided one day not to work as fluidly as it had been since purchasing, approx. three weeks after purchase. Customer service was a welcome relief.
I'm so glad I got this deal! It has become my go to video editor. The library of videos is (obviously) amazing and the functionality of the editor - impressive!
