Refunded as they removed the monthly credits, which was an important part of the decision making process when initially purchasing this product on AppSumo. Given the u-turn just made me feel uneasy about what else they would take away.
Very disappointed. Recently, the terms have changed, requiring payment for usage that was initially stated to be included in the plan.
The guarantee period ended 1 month ago, which is very inconvenient as I bought this in advance to my actual development, didn't even get to start using it when I was already getting conditions changed!
I want my refund even if the period has ended, as they were not able to hold their part of the offer for even 1 month, and I will need to buy an alternative that can hold it.
Was a promising product, even though every day it would give a blank answer to a request. But when they decided the deal was "too good to be true" and said everyone loses their monthly chat credits, I had to refund it.
Tried ChatPDF, AskYourPDF, etc, and gladly settled on this one. Using it not for business, but private. Allows me to load dozens of PDF's, customize the AI agent with custom instructions, and begin chatting with the PDF's. It's GPT4 model is 100% preferred over GPT3.5. The results are world apart better with GPT4. Using it for education. AS a teacher, we deal with lot of knowledge. Let's us quickly find information and present it to the class. And yes, it finds information much better, with more detail then the services mentioned above. Simply because you can choose GPT4, and specify custom instructions, to produce a thorough, detailed and structured output of useful and in-depth information. Recommended for educators dealing with huge amounts of knowledge (even though this is designed to be a customer service tool). TIP: 99% of your success in using this is specifying your own prompt. The default prompt gets 1/10 in context of education, and 8/10 in context of using the AI bot on front-end of your site for customer service. Our custom made prompt (to extract maximum details from PDF's in a structured and logical fashion, including all the analogies, metaphors, and real life examples), gets 9/10 in context of education or self-learning.
I run a boutique consultancy delivering transformation programs to multinational companies . I am a heavy user of AppSumo -- have been for years. My "success rate" is probably 1/10; that is, I ask for refunds 9 out of 10 times either because the platform in question is undercooked, doesn't deliver, or the developers unresponsive.
I will NOT ask for a refund for GPT-Trainer. I am busy learning how to get into AI and GPT with GPT-Trainer not just for my self-development, but also as a platform for new products and services for my consultancy.
GPT-Trainer's team is competent, focused, and looking to build a strong early adopters community. GPT-Trainer the platform is still in development, but what is operational now is impressive and customer-ready.

Five+++ tacos for a great product.
GPT Trainer makes creating a custom ChatGPT instance extremely simple--and yet very flexible. You can train on files, URLs (with auto site crawling), and tables. There is also a Q & A feature I have not tried.
It was trivial to embed the bot on a web page, too. Five tacos from me--and remember that I don't write a lot of reviews good or bad because I'm not motivated to. This one motivated me.
This is a super easy chatbot to setup I really like that I can add files to train my bot. The only thing I will say is the website link training didn't work for my site for some reason but all and all still 5 tacos.
The platform is solid. I've bought multiple chatbot platforms from Appsumo - Chatbase, Re:tune, Chatwith, GPT-Trainer
GPT Trainer has function calling coming, the ability to use the chatbot to interact with other AIs. They are taking on hard engineering problems and I think they will deliver.
It's solid now, and I expect it to become a beast in the future

I'm surprised GPT-Trainer hasn't gotten as much love from Appsumo as other chatbots
I'm giving it four stars because I haven't tried everything out yet, but everything that I have seen so far looks really good. There are lots of functions and integrations. They definitely built this very smart because it was not complicated at all.
This one is really solid and massive. I agree with other reviewers that this one deserves much more attention compared to other AI chatbots. We tried a handful of such tools before and usually refunded since essential features were often hastily implemented. This one has a mature API and "has been around" for a while.
So far we are very pleased with responsiveness of the tool and will stack up not to miss out on this before thorough testing.
